Kindergarten Learning Expectations
The kindergarten curriculum was designed to encourage students to explore the roles as a citizen in a culturally diverse world. As students interpret challenges of the present through knowledge of the past, it is our hope that they will develop a respect and understanding of various cultures and an appreciation of the interconnectedness of people in a global society.
Myself
Children’s sense of self is shaped by experiences that are unique to them and their families, and by common experiences shared by a community. In this unit, students will recognize that he or she is a unique individual. Through their experiences, students will be encouraged to identify and be sensitive to the similarities and differences of others.
My Community

My Family
Children will recognize the similarities and differences in families and that families have diverse cultures, cutoms, beliefs and values.
My Country
Children will begin to understand that history exists in our county to teach us about the past. They will recognize that U.S symbols and traditions help develop a shared culture and identity within our country.
Me On The Map
Children will be introduced to geographical terms. They will understand how maps and globes are representations of Earth’s surface that are used to locate places and regions.
